Did you ever play double dutch in elementary? The ropes scraping the floor, one rope loops left, the other, right. You're trying to find the right moment to jump in and go for it. You know that once you jump in, there's no stopping and you have to keep moving. Bam, and just like that, I feel like I started all things related to the Bonderman Fellowship- the blog, the planning, the good-byes. Sure, I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I hadn't actually purchased anything, or made arrangements for the trip. I really hesitated even starting the blog so soon, since I don't leave until September and I really didn't want to detail my travel itinerary before I took off, but I figured I should prep this blog somehow for my family and friends to get a glimpse into what was going through my head prior to departing Seattle, La Puente, and pretty much life as I know it...and if you know me, you'll know this blog is only a digital slice of what really goes on up there.
Dramática, I know, I know.
This blog is to keep my loved ones (and entertain those who happen to stumble upon this page) updated on where I am while traveling on the University of Washington Bonderman Fellowship. There are a few blogs online of other fellows that describes the fellowship pretty nicely, so I'll try to keep this simple. I'm still figuring out the layout of this thing, so hopefully I'll get a little more sophisticated and creative with postings as I learn more about how to work this blog.
Here are a few other Bonderman fellows (I only know Emma from this list):
